INTRODUCTION:

This position is located in the Navy Getaway Department within the Fleet and Family Readiness Division, Commander, Navy Region Hawaii. The purpose of this position is to provide program management of Morale, Recreation and Welfare recreational lodging facilities to include recreational vehicle parks, cottages, campgrounds and cabins within PMRF, Navy Region Hawaii.

MAJOR DUTIES:

Responsible for actively managing the Recreation Lodging to include the reservation system.  Makes and implements suggestions to improve efficiency of the facility’s operation.  Oversee the day to day maintenance of all properties and is responsible for insuring that all discrepancies are corrected in a timely manner.  Established and manages a pro-active resident relations program and develops and implements a continuous and effective marketing program.

Responsible for ordering all cleaning supplies, equipment, and amenities.  Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of all assigned buildings and grounds.  Reports hazardous conditions to proper authority, and initiates maintenance and repair requests, following through until completion.  Responsible for renovations/repair planning, and review of work in progress.

Serves as the primary purchaser for all lodging requirements.  Reviews invoices and billings to ensure work is performed before payment.  Reviews all financial documents for accuracy and forwards to the business office for processing.  Insures proper internal controls to protect Navy property.  Prepares draft budgets

Performs daily inspections within area of responsibility, ensuring prompt resolution.

Performs other duties as assigned.                     

SUPERVISORY STATEMENT:

Responsible for fulfilling all applicable human resources management trainings, on-the-job training, scheduling formal training, assigning work in progress, coaching, evaluating work in progress as well as annual performance and corrective/disciplinary actions for Custodial Staff, Maintenance and Recreation Assistants.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Knowledge of the basic principles and techniques to manage a comprehensive recreational lodging program or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience in the customer service industry. 

Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, possess basic computer skills, and ability to learn specific and applicable software.  Experience with word documents and spreadsheets are preferred.

Basic knowledge of military policies and regulations pertaining to planning funding, construction, maintenance and utilization of government owned quarters and related furnishings and equipment is recommended.  Must possess basic knowledge of accounting and budgeting procedures used in preparing, analyzing, and executing budgets and accounting documents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

A minimum of two (2) years documented experience in recreational lodging or property management is preferred, but may be substituted with an equivalent combination of documented educations, training, and/or experience that sufficiently demonstrates knowledge of methods used in managing and marketing.

A minimum of one (1) year leader/supervisory experience to direct the work of subordinate staff?.

Basic computer skills
