INTRODUCTION:

This position is located at the Navy Getaway operation at PMRF Kauai.  The purpose of this position is to perform front desk and/or reservation functions for the lodging program.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent ensures the security, comfort and privacy of all guests at the Navy Getaway. Must possess excellent customer service skills from taking reservation to check out of guests. All information must be entered accurately in the Property Management System and the incumbent’s responsibility to safeguard all personal information given including credit card information. Upon check-in, they will assign rooms to guests, issue room keys or cards or when rooms are not available, issue a certificate of non-availability (CNA) and assist guests in seeking alternative accommodations as needed. Accountable for change fund, collects payments, prepares bank report, daily activity report (DAR) and makes deposits of cash receipts at the end of each shift in accordance with established procedures. Responsible for inventorying all keys, supplies or amenities at front desk, place trouble calls into system to ensure the appropriate department is notified, and relocates guest to a different room when required. Performs other related duties as assigned. The incumbent is required to obtain a front desk certification within 6 months of employment as well as any other requirements outlined in the Lodging Career Path Guide.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Six months’ work experience related to hospitality operations is preferred. Must be able to use office computer and software programs, and possess basic math & reading skills. Must be able to effectively communicate verbally & in writing, with the ability to handle, control and account for large amounts of cash. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time; walking and lifting/carrying objects of to 30 pounds. 

**Must be available days, nights, weekends & holidays and able to work rotating shifts **.
